Personal Emergency Response System (PERS)
PERS is designed to help people live independently. The PERS System provides emergency help 24 hours a day by simply pushing a
help button.
The system installation consists of a base unit that is connected to the existing
private landline phone line, a small "button" unit,
and a nearby
electrical unit.
Also required are the phone numbers of at least one person who can be contacted to check on the individual.
The individual wears the help button as a necklace or a bracelet.
When the button is pushed, the unit automatically dials the emergency response center.
The response center's operator will contact the individual to determine the emergency
and will notify whoever is on the emergency contact list.
Additional assistance will be summoned
when deemed necessary.
