Wendi Porter
began her employment with the Delaware County Department of Social
Services on September 27, 2004 as a Caseworker assigned to the
Family & Children Service Program, and has been trained as a Child
Protective Services Investigator. In recognition of her
excellent casework skills, Wendi was promoted to Senior Caseworker I
in January, 2009.
Wendi continues
to serve as a Senior Caseworker I in the Child Protective Services
for the greater Walton area, including Trout Creek and handles eight
to twelve new Child Protective Reports per month. While school
is in session, Wendi also spends two days a week in her office at
the BOCES Harrold Campus, where she assists with making connections
between students, their families and the educational programming at
BOCES.
Wendi recognizes
the importance of assisting families that are experiencing
difficulties and challenges. She particularly finds helping to
make a difference for children and their families rewarding.
Wendi resides
with her mother and stepfather, and assists with raising her adopted
brother and sisters. Wendi has been licensed as an Emergency
Medical Technician for ten years and spends a great deal of her free
time serving at the Davenport Fire Department & EMS.
Congratulations,
Wendi, for this well-deserved recognition and thank you for a job
well done.
