Christina Gardner began working for Delaware
County Public Health on June 7, 2006 as an Account Clerk Typist. On
November 1, 2006, she was promoted to Early Intervention Program
Specialist. She was again promoted to Children’s Program Specialist
on September 23, 2007.
As Children’s Program Specialist, Christina
is responsible for the Physically Handicapped Children’s Program,
Children with Special Health Care Needs Program, Pre-K, and Early
Intervention Programs’ intake and referral, grant budgeting and
quarterly reports, and service billing to New York State Department
of Health and Medicaid. She also serves as a car seat technician.
Christina is a self-starter, reliable, and
creative. She brings to the Director’s attention not only problems
and issues, but also possible solutions. Christina’s knowledgeable
in information technology which is beneficial to her own job as well
as when assisting other staff with IT needs. Christina cheerfully
accepts new tasks as the need arises. She is responsible for the
new Medicaid in Education regulatory change implementation.
Christina has taken a leadership role in learning a complicated new
database for the Early Intervention Program.
What Christina likes most about her job is
knowing that what she does helps to make a difference in the lives
of children. Her job is never boring as the programs are constantly
evolving and changing. She also enjoys the family friendly
atmosphere and the people she works with.
Christina has been married to her husband
Harry for twelve years and has three children, Diman, Catie and
Amber. Her hobbies include reading, camping with her family and
being outdoors at her home on Scotch Mountain. They have three dogs,
Buck, Maggie and Missy, and one cat, Skittles.
