Patrick Conklin started working for Delaware County’s
Department of Public Works as a Heavy Equipment Operator on July 11,
2005. On January 10, 2007, he was promoted to Working Supervisor, where
his responsibilities include operating the compost plant, overseeing the
crew and teaching others how to operate the equipment.
Patrick likes "about everything" about his job and
says, "it’s interesting how we can take garbage and turn it into dirt."
Patrick is a very dedicated, conscientious individual
who is willing to do anything that is required to get the job done. He
works well with others and is always in a good mood. He is able to bring
the best out in his crew and get things accomplished as a team. Patrick
has shown leadership and commitment when it comes to understanding the
composting process and is always striving to make the process better.
His job includes some very messy, unpleasant jobs in order to keep the
process going and he always does them without complaint.
Patrick has been married to his wife Terry for 32
years and has two sons, Steven and Nick. His hobbies are NASCAR and
riding motorcycles.
Congratulations, Patrick, and thank you.
