DAVID OSTERHOUT
Delaware County Employee of the Month
May
2007
David Osterhout started working for Delaware
County’s Department of Public Works on a Temporary basis in May, 1996,
and became a permanent Motor Equipment Operator in March, 1997. He was
promoted to Heavy Equipment Operator in April of 2002 and promoted to
Auto Mechanic in September, 2003.
David enjoys the people he works with as well as the variety and
the challenge of the work.
David was nominated as Employee of the Month for two reasons: The
first is his work performance at DPW. David is a very hard working,
conscientious and dedicated mechanic. He works hard to improve his
skills and knowledge of the equipment. He is willing to listen to anyone
more experienced and takes constructive criticism. He has a lot of pride
in his work and does a lot of reading of manuals to make sure that his
work is good quality and complete. He is always willing to tackle new
challenges such as automated salt spreaders and computer diagnostics for
the new computer controls in the trucks and equipment.
The second, and more important, reason for his nomination is his
service to this country and our way of life. David has earned the rank
of Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserves, 407th
Expeditionary Civil Engineering squadron. David
has a wife, Christine, and two young sons, Eric and Travis, at home but
served unselfishly in the war in Iraq from September 2006 to January
2007.
David enjoys animals, camping and hiking.
Congratulations, David, and thank you.
